Guiseley Meet Sir Trevor and the Kaiser Chiefs

Guiseley Girls JFC and Guiseley Junior FC squad members and coaches recently had the opportunity to meet and talk to former England International and Football Association’s Director of football development, Sir Trevor Brooking at the opening of St Mary’s new £750,000. 3G pitch.

The girls also met and played football with other famous personalities such as Peanut Baines and Nick Hodgson from the “Kaiser Chiefs”.

The new pitch is 110 x 60mtrs. 11 a-side pitch, which sub-divides into three 7 a-side pitches and is the culmination of more than a decade of campaigning and fundraising by the school and it’s Partner Clubs, including Guiseley Girls FC and Guiseley Juniors FC.

The project which is located in North West, Leeds at St Mary’s School and Sports College and was part funded with the help of a £325,000 grant from the Football Foundation, the country’s largest sports charity, which has supported about 8,000 community sports schemes to the tune of £945 million since 2000.

Guiseley Girls FC and Guiseley Juniors will now have the opportunity to utilise this great facility for training and Match Play, giving them the opportunity for continued football through the adverse English winter weather.
