Batley turned up the heat to lift the under 13 Cup and inflict a first defeat of the season on league champions Doncaster Belles.

Having finished runners-up to Doncaster in the league, Batley were determined not to let the Belles have all the fun but, despite dominating the opening encounters, Batley soon found themselves a goal down when a superb free kick flew into the top corner to give Doncaster the lead which they held until ten minutes into the second half when Batley's pressure finally paid off when a shot from the edge of the area nestled in the top corner of the Belles net.

Match Action

A quickly taken short corner caught the Belles napping and produced a second goal for Batley but the goal led to the Belles best spell of the game and only a couple of superb saves from the Batley keeper denied Doncaster an equaliser.

The outcome was finally settled when a Belles defender handled the ball in the penalty area and Batley made sure of victory from the resulting spot kick.
